Interviewed on Godbit

A few weeks ago Yannick Fatt sent me some questions for a short email interview with Bob Christenson and myself for Godbit.

According to the Godbit website their missions is:

The purpose of this site [Godbit] is to help the Church catch up with the rest of the world in adherence to Web Standards given by the World Wide Web Consortium, the governing body of best-practices on the Internet. The majority of Christian web design agencies are using outmoded methods of coding to create websites that the rest of the world would scoff at. Basically, they are stuck in the 1990’s.

You can read the interview in its entirety on Godbit.com.

Site Move

I recently moved MattFarina.com from a single site drupal installation over to a multi-site installation. This means that all the image paths in all the posts were updated (via a script). If you see an errors or anything out of place I'd appreciate it if you let me know.

My Other Blog

Over the past few months I've been working on a new blog project that will be the center of my technology blogging. You can find it over at InnovatingTomorrow.net. The motivation for this blog stemmed from the same reason Bob and I put Geeks and God together, some conversations on the podcast, and from staring at one to many bad church site that culminated in a challenge.

Bad Spam Filter

  • MattFarina.com

Over the past couple months my spam filter hasn't been working very well. Sure, it's caught all the spam. But, it didn't stop there. It grabbed a bunch of real comments.

I'm sorry I didn't check it more often and deal with them. All the legitimate ones should be live now and I have responded to them. In the future I'll check filters more often

So, the lesson is... if you use spam filters check out what they have spotted as spam. There may be some good stuff in there.

I'm back to blogging. The past few month break from blogging has been great but it's time to get back to the day to day. There are several new projects to blog about, some drupal stuff going on, Geeks and God is about to return, and there are always those tough faith questions.

The big day is finally here. Today I get married to Kristin Sayres. This makes me the luckiest man in the world.

So, if you're trying to get ahold of me for the next two weeks you'll just have to wait. I'll be off on my honeymoon.

Welcome Geeks and God listeners. On this past episode of the Geeks and God podcast, Bob and I said we would start blogging about drupal, the popular open source content management system, and design and development in general. As we said on the podcast, these design and development posts will be about once a week. To help with finding and sorting these posts on MattFarina.com there are new design and development categories. So are you ready to dive into something that combines design, development, and drupal?

Note: You can find Bob blogging about this at mustardseedmedia.com/blog.

Happy New Year! It's a few days late because these last few days have been filled with redesigns and upgrades.

After taking most of the last month off from blogging I am now renewed, reinvigorated, and ready to blog. But, before I could blog it was time for my blog to be renewed, reinvigorated, and ready to blog with me in the new year. Here is an overview of the changes. Hope you enjoy.
