Keys To A Successful Ministry - Part 1
Successful ministries are hard to come by these days. It's not that God isn't backing ministries, it's that our sin keeps getting in the way and killing them. This doesn't have to be the case. We don't have to let that happen. Here are a few key elements that can help a God backed ministries be a success.
God Backed
The first thing one needs is the ministry to be God backed. It has to be something God cares about. If it isn't, then why do it? At the same time God calls us to do certain things in certain places at certain times. This is a theme through the bible. It's not about what we want to do when we want to do it, but about what God wants how and when God wants it. We should respect that, pray to God, follow scripture, and let God lead us.
A Visionary Leader
Even with God as our leader we need a person here to lead us. In the past God has used visionary men to lead his people. People who who could see what the mission could do, share it with others, and motivate people to chase after something God cares about.
Why do we need this leader? We let sin get in the way. We don't have the joy for the things God wants that we should. We let the sin of laziness get in our way. Something that, with a little motivation, we can easily overcome. This is what that leader does. That leader gets people excited about the ministry. That leader gets people excitied about doing Gods work and chasing the things that God longs for us to chase after.
That's my 3.5 cents for the day... more tomorrow in Part 2.....

#1 Interesting thoughts
Interesting thoughts. Coming from someone who has studied all different types of ministries...churches, church plants, para-church, non-profits, missionaries, you do have some key ingredients. But, just wondering why there is a picture of me on there?
#2 because you are...
Jason - you are a visionary leader. You can and do inspire people. You are great at motivating people, trusting them, and making them feel great while serving God. You, also, look on the positive side in a great way. That's why your picture is there. 'Cause your a church pimp.
