New Beginnings
A few weeks ago something was nagging me about my blog. Because of that, I stopped blogging until I could figure out what it was. Last Week, I found the two things nagging me about my blog were the look and the purpose.
After doing the series "Websites That Don't Suck" over at the Geeks and God Podcast I realized that my personal blog sucked. At least I thought the look did. It seemed somehow ghetto in a bad way. So, I created a new template that you see here. The goal was clean and easy to read. Please let me know what you think of the new look.... leave a comment.
I am sure there are still some glitches in the look to be ironed out. If you find one please shoot me an email here.
More than the look I was being bothered by the purpose. I didn't really have a purpose so I wandered around from topic to topic. I blogged about sports, Detroit, politics, religion, technology, and so many other topics I couldn't keep my head straight. This somewhat reflected my state of mind which has been a bit scatter brained lately. To remedy this I wiped the slate clean on blog entries and am starting anew with a purpose.
Over at 9rules.com they had a list of 9 Rules they started with which I found helped me find my purpose. They are:
1. Love what you do.
2. Never stop learning.
3. Form works with function.
4. Simple is beautiful.
5. Work hard, play hard.
6. You get what you pay for.
7. When you talk, we listen.
8. Must constantly improve.
9. Respect your inspiration.
After thinking about these rules and my inspiration I decided the purpose of this blog is to blog about technology, faith, life, and how they interact.
Any thoughts from the peanut gallery? What do you think?
Update: There was still some wet paint to clean up for those of you viewing in IE on windows. That should be cleared up not (fingers crossed).

#1 I like it
Matt, great seeing you on Saturday and I like the new site.
Peace, jason
#2 Thanks
It was good to see you, too. Hope everything goes well with the move and travels. After our little windows talk I decided I was going to blog on it tomorrow.
#3 =)
I like the new site and it does look a lot more professional. No tongues sticking out anywhere that I've seen so far which is a definite step in the less ghetto direction. =) I do kind of miss the gallery though, but I guess you want more of a purposeful site than a personal one now. Good luck babe.
#4 Great
This is a great looking drupal template. I need to create a new theme for my personal site.
#5 Thanks
Thanks. This template is a modification of the K2 theme with a lot of rework to the css file.
